VSU Storum Hall
Renovations
Project Highlights
In February 2021, Mark Turner Construction completed the renovations to historic Storum Hall on the campus of Virginia State University. The second-oldest structure on campus and originally the president’s home, it is currently utilized by the Office of Institutional Advancement. The base project encompassed removing ceilings and installing fire sprinklers and alarms throughout the building. The project expanded to include a full historic interior renovation including recessing electrical and data into plaster walls, new period appropriate lighting, historical trim and doors, updated bathrooms and kitchen, repair and restoration of original wood floors, stained glass, and adding additional data to facilitate office operations.
